Rene Bayardo is a seasoned government affairs professional with over 15 years of experience shaping public policy in California. His expertise spans a broad range of sectors, including labor and employment, healthcare, privacy and consumer protection, financial services, insurance, energy, and gaming. Known for his strategic approach and deep policy knowledge, Rene has built a reputation for fostering trusted relationships and effectively collaborating with diverse stakeholders across the public and private sectors.

Previously, Rene served as Government Relations Director for California’s largest labor union—widely regarded as one of the state’s most influential political organizations. In this role, he led advocacy efforts, directed public policy strategy, and negotiated high-stakes legislation. His leadership played a pivotal role in landmark policy victories such as the establishment of the Fast Food Council (AB 1228) and the passage of a $25 minimum wage for healthcare workers (SB 525)—both of which received national coverage in outlets like The New York Times and Los Angeles Times.
Rene’s pragmatic, results-oriented style makes him a valuable ally in navigating California’s complex political landscape. He has advised and represented labor unions, Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, and advocacy groups. He has worked with clients such as SEIU California, General Motors, Hollywood Park Casino, and Rise Economy.
